Head Lice Clinic Troutdale: About Troutdale, Oregon

Troutdale is a city of approximately 16,000 on Portland's eastern edge, where the Sandy River meets the Columbia. Known as 'The Gateway to the Columbia River Gorge,' Troutdale combines historic small-town character with immediate access to some of the Pacific Northwest's most stunning natural scenery.

History of Troutdale

Troutdale was founded in the 1850s by John Harlow, who named the area for the trout ponds he built. The city grew as a Columbia River shipping and rail point. In the 1910s it became an important stop along the historic Columbia River Highway — the first scenic highway in the U.S. Today the city balances its historic identity with suburban growth.
